Ozarks Property Rights Congress  Meeting
Thursday, October 27 – 7:00 p.m.
Hayloft Restaurant, Mountain Grove, Missouri

Come early if you care to eat, as no food is allowed in the meeting room, due to limited restaurant staff.

Doreen Hannes will discuss the Sustainable Communities Initiative that has been promoted throughout state through Regional Planning groups, Council of County Governments, municipalities and community groups.
This is Agenda 21 at its finest, purest form. OPRC, along with other property rights advocacy groups, has been working to educate county commissioners and other officials to the undesirable effects of signing on to this initiative.

There will be no meeting in Mountain Grove or Gainesville in November or December.  With hunting season and the busy holiday season, it was decided to take a break. We will plan to hit the ground running in January (weather permitting).

Bob Parker will talk about “Regulations.” About 3,500 new regulations were put into effect last year. Agencies are out of control enacting regulations which cause devastating costs to business. It is said, “These regulations are killing us.” Bob will present hard number statistics to bring home what that actually means.

Everyone is welcome. Come and bring a friend.

As the world economy continues to collapse it will be very important that we become a local structure for freedom and stability. We need to talk about how best to do that.

See you there,
Eric V.V.

Planned Meeting Discussion Topics
• Agenda 21 and NAFTA
• Corporate Farms do not represent Family Farmers. There is a big difference between small farmers/ranchers and  giant corporate farms. We need to get our legislators to understand that difference. Laws that help corporate farms, in most cases, hurt the small farmer.

OPRC Meeting Mountain Grove, Missouri

Ozarks Property Rights Congress Meeting
June 23 -7:00 p.m.—Hayloft Restaurant – Mountain Grove

Come early if you care to eat, as no food is allowed in the meeting room.

Speakers for the Conference will be announced at the meeting. You may be surprised!

Agenda 21 is on the topic list. Bob Parker has come across info we need.

We heard that last week the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill passed out of committee with section 109 in tact. This section is supposed protect us from greater control from the Corps of Engineers by limiting how they use funding. More on that and what has developed in the Senate.

Doreen Hannes will have updates on Morningland Dairy’s troubles with the milk board and the courts. She will also bring information on the Dollarhites of Nixa and their problems with the USDA over their rabbit raising business.

Food Modernization Act supporters are unhappy because things they were promised in exchange for their support aren’t forthcoming (What? You can’t take Congress’s word as truth? Who knew?).
Doreen will explain further.

Attacks on our private property rights have increased since our first Conference in 2001. Watchful diligence is needed more than ever before.
Please try to attend the Conference and bring someone with you.

11th Ozarks Conference on Private Property Rights
“Agenda 21 in the Heartland — How International Issues Become Local.”
Saturday, August 6, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
At the YMCA — Mountain Grove, Missouri Complete Conference information will be sent in July.

There will be NO OPRC meetings in July in Mountain Grove or Gainesville!

Gainesville, Missouri OPRC Meeting

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

OZARKS PROPERTY RIGHTS CONGRESS MEETING
June 9, 2011 -7:00 p.m.
Gainesville, MO
Vaught’s Family Restaurant
West of Gainesville on Highway 160,
West of the Highway 5 South and 160 Junction
On meeting nights, food is served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

We are all mourning the loss of our president, Russell Wood, but we know Russell wanted us to carry on the fight to preserve our private property rights. That is just what we are doing!

Doreen Hannes will be the speaker on the 9th. Please come and support her. She has some really good information to share.

She will bring updates on the USDA persecution of the Dollarhite family of Nixa. Their crime? They sold more than $500 worth of rabbits in one year. Come here what Doreen suggests we can all do to help this family retain their right to use their property as they see fit. They broke no law by raising the bunnies.

Water issues are back! The Current and Jacks Fork Rivers have been added to American Rivers annual list of endangered rivers for 2011, just a short time after  the EPA has announced a Public Comment Period on their proposed decision to identify impaired waters and associated pollutants in Missouri. More info on that.

Three professors in Illinois want to turn some of the most productive farmland in the world into wetlands and national parks along the Mississippi in the flood plain. What part of “No Farmers, No Food” don’t they understand?

Under more of the “What were they thinking?” category, Doreen will review some of the bills that were passed by the legislature.

We have set the time, date, and location for our annual conference. Mark your calendars for August 6. We will be announcing speakers soon and hope to have a real surprise for everyone.

Ozarks Property Rights Congress Meeting
April 28 -7:00 p.m.—Hayloft Restaurant
Mountain Grove, Missouri

Come early if you care to eat as no food is allowed in the meeting room,
due to limited restaurant staff.

Meeting Topics

Larry Dills from Rogersville, will talk about the Missouri Conservation Department releasing the names & addresses of folks who have bought hunting or fishing permits, to the Appalachian Wildlife Foundation. AWF, in turn, sends solicitation letters to those people on the MDC list. AWF gave $50,000 to MDC to assist in bringing elk to Missouri.

There will be updates on several AG bills. Doreen will discuss HB209, which infringes on private property owners ability to protect their property from serious nuisances. It has passed both houses & is waiting for the Governor’s signature to become law. We are asking that  Gov. Nixon veto HB209, as it effectively implements statewide zoning &  has great potential to destroy one’s ability to protect their property.

Bob will talk about HB458, the Missouri Farmland Trust Act has passed through the House 157-0 & is now in the Senate Agriculture, Food Production & Outdoor Resource Committee. Do we really want the state of Missouri in the real estate leasing business? Let the private sector determine what happens to the land. Senator Chuck Purgason is a member of that committee - Call him.

By meeting time we will probably know if the Governor has signed SB113 which modifies Prop B. The Humane Society of the US is using national TV to encourage out-of-state folks to call Gov. Nixon urging him not to sign the bill. It was HSUS money that passed Prop B  in the first place.

OPRC Meeting Gainesville, MO

Monday, April 11th, 2011

OZARKS PROPERTY RIGHTS CONGRESS MEETING
April 14 -7:00 p.m.— Vaught’s Family Restaurant
Gainesville, Missouri
On meeting nights, food is served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a buffet on this meeting night.

Vaught’s Restaurant is on Highway 160 West of  Highway 5  South

Discussion Topics

The Ozarks Highlands National Heritage Area has been stopped for now. Bob Parker will speak on following the money trail of how some $189,000 was spent on this effort to infringe on our property rights. We are not convinced that the OHNHA is really going away all together. We must be extra vigilant that is does not sneak back into our lives in some other form. Guess we are just suspicious that way, judging from past experience dealing with government agencies.

Combating the effects of the Food Safety Modernization Act by passing Local Food Freedom Ordinances. Patterned after the ordinance passed in Sedgewick, Maine, Doreen Hannes has drawn up a similar ordinance for counties in Missouri. We will discuss what the Act enables agencies to do to our right to grow food, and what the local food freedom ordinance can do to help protect us. Mary Rivera will be talking about that and County Land Use Plans.

Counties that have land use plans should use those plans to stop these efforts by the Federal Government to tell them how to run their county. We need to get back to local citizens being in charge of their rights.

OPRC Meeting in Mountain Grove, Missouri
